Target Stores Refund Policy
A receipt dated within 90 days is required for all returns and exchanges.
All returns and exchanges must be new, unused, and contain all original packaging and accessories. A form of personal identification may be required. Some items cannot be returned if opened and may only be exchangeable, including music, movies, video games, software and collectibles. Other restrictions may apply.
Don’t have your receipt?
In most instances, Target stores can verify purchases made on a credit or debit card, check or GiftCard using our Refund Look-up system. Refund Look-up is also available for Target.com purchases.

All other returns or exchanges, including those without a receipt, will be offered manufacturers’ warranty and repair assistance at 1-800-303-0308 (if applicable).
Store refunds will be issued in the same form of payment originally used for purchase:
- Credit Card Purchases: refund will be credited to the original credit card.
- Target GiftCard Purchases: refund will be issued in the form of a Target GiftCard
- Gift Recipients: refund will be issued in the form of a Target GiftCard.
- Check Purchases: refund will be issued in the form of a Target GiftCard up to 10 days after original purchase or as cash back.
Restocking Fees: Some items are subject to a 15% restocking fee, including camcorders, digital cameras, portable DVD players and portable electronics.
Tax: The appropriate tax amount by item will be included with your refund.
Discounts and Promotions: The refunded value for each item returned will be reduced to reflect the value of any free gift or discount.
Holiday and Seasonal Merchandise Refunds: Holiday and seasonal merchandise on clearance at the time of return will be refunded at the current clearance price.
